Our Vision: No Student Hungry

World Food Movement, a nonprofit launched in 2025, is committed to ending student hunger at community colleges across California. The organization provides free, nutritious meals so students do not have to choose between pursuing their education and affording their next meal.
With support from individual and institutional donors, World Food Movement has rapidly expanded across 11 campuses—impacting 5,000+ students and serving 25,000+ meals.

I'm proud to announce our partnership with the Sattvic Meals Foundation (World Food Movement), launched in January 2025, with an ambitious goal to serve 50,000 meals by the end of this academic year and 1 million meals by 2030. This partnership builds on the extraordinary legacy, serving over 2.2 million children daily in India and recently celebrating the 4 billionth milestone. How does the program work?
Survey respondents (66K+ students) in 2023 indicated that:
- 52% worried that their food would run out before they got money to buy more
- 50% concerned that they could not afford to eat balanced meals
- 34% cut the size of portions or skipped meals because there was not enough money
